Collection Page [filter by color]: Results should show images with the color it was filtered for#59

When filtered by product color the variant image that comes up is the first variant attached to the product instead of the variant that contains the relevant colour. This is a feature that is available on the Shopify Dawn theme.

Sadly such kind of filter should be available out-of-the-box. Do somebody have a workaround for that? It’s really confusing and from a UX point of view really bad.

This feels closer to a bug than a feature request. I’m going to elevate this at our development meeting on Monday.

Agree with Anja, this is something that should be available as part of all 2.0 themes. Users that filter by colour get confused when the wrong colour (first product variant image) comes up instead of the correct variant image. Any timeline on this being implemented?

We’ve added the ability to show filtered product variant images to Spark versions 2.12.0 and up.

If you are running on Lorenza versions 2.11.0 and under, you’ll want to update your theme to get this feature. Here’s our guide on how to update:
